Booking is easy! Just send a message through the website, or give me a call. I’ll have a quick chat with you to understand what you need, and then we’ll get your first lesson booked in at a time that suits you.
I cover Bodmin, St Austell, Lostwithiel, Wadebridge and the surrounding areas. If you’re not sure whether I cover your location, feel free to get in touch and I’ll let you know.
Yes — you don’t need to pass your theory test before starting practical lessons. In fact, learning to drive while you’re studying often makes the theory easier to understand. However, you will need to pass your theory test before booking your practical test. So it is best to pass your theory test sooner rather than later.
Just your provisional driving licence and some comfortable shoes — trainers are ideal. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, bring those too. I’ll explain everything else you need to know when we meet.
Prices vary depending on lesson length. You can make a saving by buying lessons in bulk. You can find my current prices on the lessons page, or feel free to contact me to discuss further.
Yes — booking a block of lessons often works out slightly cheaper than paying as you go. It’s also a great way to stay consistent with your learning. Just get in touch and I’ll talk you through your options.
This depends on what works best for you. My recommendation is 2 hour lessons but I also offer 1 or 1.5 hour lessons. We can chat what works best for you.
I teach in a manual car. That means once you pass, you’ll be licensed to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
It really depends on the person — everyone learns at their own pace. On average, most learners in the UK need around 45 hours of lessons, plus some extra practice if possible. I’ll give you honest feedback as we go, so you’ll know when you’re ready.
Absolutely. I’ve helped lots of nervous learners become confident, safe drivers — and I won’t rush you. I create a calm, supportive environment so you can go at your own pace and build your confidence over time.
Yes, definitely. I know that learning to drive can feel daunting, and I’m here to support you however I can. If you have anxiety, autism, ADHD or a physical condition, just let me know — I’ll work with you to tailor your lessons and help you feel comfortable every step of the way.
Once you’re driving confidently and can handle different road types and traffic situations, I’ll let you know it’s time. I’ll support you with mock tests and honest advice so you feel properly prepared before booking.
Your test will last about 40 minutes. You’ll be asked to:
Answer two “show me, tell me” questions about the car
Drive on a variety of roads
Complete one reversing manoeuvre
Possibly perform an emergency stop
Do around 20 minutes of independent driving using a sat nav or road signs
Don’t worry — we’ll practice all of this in your lessons so you know exactly what to expect.
If the DVSA cancels your test because of bad weather (like snow or ice), they’ll rearrange it for free. I’ll work with you to reschedule any lessons too — safety always comes first, even if delays are frustrating.
